I used to want to move south.

When I'm done with college I might look for work even farther north than I am now. Maybe Alaska, but that is a bit out of the way.

This here, IS true. And its terrible. You have to wait an extra 20 minutes for anything to get done. People take their time, like that particular task is the last thing they are ever going to do. And the traffic. Its terrible because of all the old people that live here. Idk how 100 year olds get there licenses renewed.

Lol, maybe if you're part of their race. South might as well be race war BETA, everyone is an asshole to you unless you stick with your own people. I much preferred it in the places like NJ and NY where everyone is an asshole to everyone else regardless of race and class.

also, speaking of southern racism, my floridian uncle was telling me about a friend he had who moved from somewhere in the north to some small town in florida, and this was shortly after the civil rights act of 64. this woman went to a laundromat but she saw a "whites only" sign on the store. she was like "oh goodness, i have all of this colored clothes" but the guy was just like "nah, we just dont want niggers"

Yeah, the history is kinda bad, but, at least around here, there's no racism problem (Newport, KY all the way up through Independence, KY).

The hospitality is top notch, though. I've not gone anywhere where I haven't been treated well, or the service wasn't excellent. All the people I've run into are very nice, except the teens, but they're all at that "rebel or die" phase in their lives so I excuse it a bit.

I really have no idea what Robie's going on about. I have family and friends who live in the south and they haven't said anything about anything he's talking about. These friends are black, white, a few hispanics. :idk:
