I like to vote third party because it circumvents the largely bipartisan system.

i feel like third party candidates are less likely to be as corrupt anyway. also a lot of times i find myself agreeing with a third party over republican or democrat.

Well most people join the first parties because they're politically powerful, and when you're joining something for the sake of power it's hard to say they're not corrupt in some way.

also like, realistically third party guys know they probably wont win, so what do they have to gain from lying? even if they say the EXACT same thing as a dem or rep, people will still be like "ooh, third party, cant vote for that!"

and third parties will never win as long as people have that attitude

though even if they change, it's still a very slim chance they could win higher up offices such as most federal ones considering how the system works.

They don't have a bad shot at local elections though.

thats why i have vowed that, when i vote, i will COMPLETELY disregard political party and vote for whoever i agree with, regardless of party. better to go with a guy you like as opposed to voting a guy who sucks but sucks slightly less than the other.

The lesser of two evils is still evil, and why would you want an evil guy in charge of your country? Never understood the mentality of voting for the lesser of two evils, especially when there are more than two options.

And completely disregarding political party isn't the easiest thing to do considering most people in a political party share the same ideas as other members. However with the democrats and the republicans it's mostly just hot button issues and even then if you noticed how the republicans have been getting less and less popular and the blue dog democrats in congress have been cock blocking health care reform, so political party isn't always the most reliable thing. At least with the gigantic main parties.

I voted and sadly I don't know too many of the people running in my county, but my parents gave me some background that they knew and I mainly voted along party lines, but not completely.
